　中国の四川省での大規模地震から一夜明けた13日、同省やその周辺に進出する日本企業は現地事業の再開に向けて工場の点検作業などに乗り出した。四川省に近い重慶市に工場を持つスズキやマツダなどは通常通り操業しているが、同省成都市に進出するトヨタ自動車や住友電気工業などは現時点で再開の見通しが立っていない。混乱はまだ続きそうな状況だ。

　重慶市の合弁工場の操業を12日に一時停止したスズキは設備などへの被害もほとんどなかったため13日は朝から平常通り操業を始めた。

　その一方でまだ営業を再開できない日本企業も少なくない。トヨタ自動車は成都市内で小型バスなどを生産する合弁会社工場の操業停止を継続。生産設備の被害状況や従業員の安否確認を急ぐ。今夜以降、生産を再開できるかは「点検結果を受けて判断する」という。トヨタ向けの現地物流を担う豊田通商もオフィスが立ち入り禁止となり13日から休業に入った。

中國大地震 日資企業持續混亂
豐田等社無法建立重啟目標

中國四川省的大規模地震發生後第二天的13日，進軍於該省及周圍區域的日本企業也開始著手於工廠的檢查作業以重啟當地事業的發展。雖然在靠近四川省的重慶市擁有工廠的鈴木以及松田等公司已經一如往昔地開業，在同省成都市設廠的豐田汽車和住友電氣工業等則仍然無法預測重新開業的日期。混亂似乎將會持續下去。

鈴木雖然在12日時暫時停止位於重慶市的合併工廠之作業，但由於設備等幾乎沒有受害的情形，13日清晨便重啟日常作業。

然而，尚未開始作業的日資企業也佔十分少數。豐田汽車持續停止其位於成都市內的小型巴士生產工廠的作業，同時加速確認生產設備的損害情形以及作業人員的安危。至於今晚過後是否能夠重啟作業，豐田則表示將視檢查結果來判斷。至於負責豐田於當地物流事業的豐田通商也因為辦公室已被禁止進入而自13日起進入了休業狀態。

Toyota's reopening plan remains unset

The next morning after the tremendous earthquake in XiChuan, China, Japanese companies in the province and the surrounding area have started checking the factories for the reopening of local businesses. Though companies with facilities located in ChongChing City near XiChuan Province, like Suzuki and Matuda, are operating as usual, those which entered ChengDu city in the province, such as Toyota Motors and Sumitomo Electronics, are not able to schedule for restart. The  chaos seems to remain for a while.

With mere damage on the facilities found, Suzuki, who temporarely stopped  the operation of the merged factory in ChongChing City on 12, has started its routine operation.

On the other hand, the number of Japanese companies whose operations remain closed are small. Toyota continued the stoppage of the merged facility in ChengDu City, which produces small buses and so on. It also hurried the examination of the damage on the facilities and the safety of the operators. Whether the production will go back to the schedule depends on the outcome of the examination. Also, Toyota Tsushou, the company handling the local distribution mainly for Toyota, also went into stoppage because the office has been labeled "No Entry."
